Academic & Other Outreach Initiatives  

The UNEP New York Office engages civil society, particularly the academic community, through the provision of speeches and briefings on various environment and sustainable development topics. These include the numerous secondary school and university groups that visit UN Headquarters, Office staff also participate in various special events at UN Headquarters organized by the UN Secretariat and the UN system's programmes and agencies, as well as those organized by non-governmental groups in New York and throughout the region.
